As we move into summer the days are getting longer and the kids are spending tons of time outdoors. In our are, the birds are all around and the world has 'come alive' from it's winter rest. I decided it would be fun to incorporate some round food today.
I used Trader Joe's Italian Tortellini: White Mixed-Cheese Filling mixed with Dave's Gourmet: Butternut Squash Pasta Sauce. The sauce has a great zest the kids will love.
In the top level of the Bento I packed in some really tasty Caramelized Onion & Fresh Chives bread from Bonnie & Chive Coquette Bakery, OR. Anchordoguy and Company Cold Pressed Extra Virgin Olive Oil from Red Bluff, CA. fills the little dipper. I completed the meal with some veggie sticks, as you can see, I couldn't resist making a bike for National Bike Day.
The complete Bento, pasta on the bottom level, bread, olive oil and dried veggies on the top level. I think the kids will enjoy using the veggie's to create little images and tasty combinations.
